Annesbrook’s Story
Annesbrook began as a church in 1947. As Nelson started to expand, a church was needed in the Annesbrook suburb.
For many years, it remained a family church, a place people belonged and heard the truth of Jesus. Around 1992-94, the church started to change a lot. It started to become a church that was focused on the community. The vision of the church was all about people, and reaching people for Jesus. The questions we sought to answer was, how were we showing our community the love of God?
Brent & Viv became Senior Pastors around that time and shifted out into a school hall. Church began to change in style and approach, and we began to see God move in a powerful way.
Annesbrook has experienced many changes over the years, as we have adapted to our ever-changing society, and although our methods have changed, be assured that the gospel message has never changed. It’s still all about Jesus, what He has done for us, and learning how to follow Him.
Fast forward to now, we have created a multi-location model, which means gatherings can happen in other areas of New Zealand with a simplified structure. Management and administration take place centrally at our Saxton location, freeing up pastors and team members to focus on people. We hope to start more and more locations in the future.
Along with our Location Pastors, there are teams of volunteers who are the real heroes, who week in and week out serve and help create the amazing place that Annesbrook is.

Brent and Viv have been Senior Pastors of Annesbrook Church since 1994. They are apostolic leaders with a heartbeat to see people raised up in Christ and empowered for the work of the ministry.
LEAD PASTORS
Rebekah
& Graham Heslop
Graham and Rebekah are our Lead Pastors. They oversee our locations and bring direction to all of Annesbrook Church’s ministry expressions. They are incredible role models for many and use their unique gifts to build the lives of those around them.
